Oh The Joys Of Typhoid Fever

Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers and warm wishes while we were sick. We got a phone call the other day from the clinic that we had gotten tested at a few weeks back, and they finally found our test results! The results showed that Javen did have Typhoid Fever, yet they still don't know what I or the rest of the team had been dealing with. Thank God, we had been advised to treat for Typhoid, so we have already been through the course of antibiotics and are doing much better.

The day after tomorrow we head out on a bush expedition. The whole team is going out into the bush, but Javen and I are headed even further to scout out a new area that has been untouched with the gospel (as far as we know). This journey will be an especially difficult one. Just to get to the first village, it will take 2 days of driving over mountains on our motorcycle, and then we will continue on foot for the next 4 days throughout the jungle... and only the Lord knows what else!

We are asking to have several prayer focuses while we are out there-

1. For our ptotection while we are out on the motorcycle

2. Acceptance by the chiefs of these new villages- we are looking for permission from them to be on thier land and to be allowed to come back with the Gospel message

3. Wisdome and discernment while we are out there, the we will hear the Lord speak to us about where we should go and what we should do in the "sticky situations" that can come up one the field and accomplish all that He has sent us out there for.

This is the scripture we are standing on:

"And with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation."
