I found our guard dogs fleeing from this beast today (and I don't blame them)! After seeing what all the commotion was about, "for some reason", I thought twice and felt inspired to grab my machete before helping build up our dogs' courage to help me chase it off the property. After cornering this "little guy" (5 ft. long Monitor Lizard) in one of our store rooms, it repeatedly tried whipping us with it's tail while ferociously hissing. Knowing that he eats snakes and keeps rodents off the property, the group vote was to let him live to see another day. --- Until we meet again little fella.
Now that we are fully recovered from our illness (thank you, Lord), we are headed out on a bush expedition tomorrow to two villages that we have never been to before! It seems that the rains are beginning early this year, so please keep our vehicle (and us) in your prayers, as a lot of times we are driving through river beds to get to the villages. Look for more updates in this upcoming month!
